Afghan Shmafghan

Soooo, I'm writing this with a heavy heart today. We found out on Friday that they are writing up orders for Zack's unit to go to Afghanistan. I am asking all of you to be seriously praying about this. They are writing up orders, which doesn't mean it's 100% at this point, but it's not just a rumor anymore, the orders are being a written and they are on the drawing board. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills these days. I thought I could handle the whole Iraq thing, but I don't know what I would do if he went to Afghanistan. A bunch of Army reinforcements arrived to Al Asad, Iraq, where Zack is. So their work there is becoming less frequent. Which is why Afghanistan is looking like a huge possibility right now. When I ask you to pray though, I'm not asking you to pray that he doesn't go. If that is God's will for him to go there, then who am I to say otherwise? Just PLEASE pray that no matter what, God will be our number 1 focus. To be able to surrender to Him every little worry and fear. That He would draw near to us, and we would draw near to Him. Lord willing he won't have to go, but if he does, then I need to strength to trust God, and my strength these days haven't been up to par. So thank you for praying!!

On other news: Zack just got back from another convoy. He said he went down a road called Long Island. Apparently there are so many potholes and bumps in the road, that at one point, Zack went from the sitting position in the turret, hit a bump, got thrown out of the turret into the standing position on his seat. Apparently the MRAPs have the worst suspension ever. A funny story though:

"When we were coming back there was an accident. An Iraqi was drunk driving and flipped his truck. So there was traffic backed up and stuff. They were all out of their cars. As we were passing them there was a group of guys in a circle dancing with their hands in the air on the side of the road, so I put my hands up like raise the roof style and started yelling AAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY and they all yelled back and danced more. After that just about everyone in their car yelled to me so I would yell back to them." Haha. That sounds very Viscomi-ish. I'm so glad he's finding SOME sort of entertainment on those long drives.

I went on New Life Dresher's Beach weekend this past weekend. It was such a great time to get to know the kids, the other leaders and most specifically our NUTSY youth group leader Corby, who probably has the best dance skills in THE world. woops I accidentally posted pictures of him prancing.... Sorry Corbs, it's about time your skills are revealed to the world.

Was this before or after Corby kept demanding the music to be turned up, which then resulted in the cops showing up?? Oh I think this was before... :)

Here are all the leaders on a BEAUTIFUL Sunday morning (at the crack of dawn).

Thank the Lord for the AMAZING weather all weekend!.. and for the great content of the messages & for the great worship & for the great fellowship :)
