August In A Nutshell

Wait. WHAT?? How is it September... How did all of August go by in .25 seconds. That's not fair. slooooow down, life.



Last I updated on our little family we were in the process of moving/vacationing/packing and unpacking. We have moved into our new little house in North Colonialtown. And while I would absolutely LOVE to show you all photos of the new place.... It needs a LOT of work. Paint jobs galore. I do have to say, my husband has been kicking some major booty getting this place all fixed up! He rocks, like a lot. If he weren't here I probably would have burned down the place already or done something totally dumb. So thank God he's such a handy man. So stay tuned for photos to come! Here's a sneak peek of the floors throughout the whole house. :D







Rustic and cute, right? We totally planned it too that our dog would match the floors perfectly.





The day after we moved, one of my brother's besties came and stayed with us (I felt so bad he had to maneuver his way through boxes to get around the house). But anyways, Tim is one of the coolest guys ever, I've known him for almost 10 years! Cray! So we obviously showed him a good Orlando time (duh). It's always a party with the Viscomes.





Right after he left, we packed up our awesome Jeep with pretty much every possession that we own and drove through the night up to Philadelphia to see my brother, Jeff (and the rest of my awesome fam) for the FIRST time since our wedding 2 years ago!! WHAT?? Not cool at all. He's living the sweet life out in California now, and being in Florida pretty much only gives us Skype and the telly to keep in touch. But he got to meet the pups which was awesome. Mona is in love with him. Obviously.

5 years ago today was a very important day. My bestie and I almost died. Literally. We were living in Ecuador at the time, visiting the RAINFOREST and one of our Ecuadorian friends convinced us that tubing down an enraged river right after a rainstorm was totally okay and normal. Thankfully the only injury was that I got kicked in the head by a tall dark haired female.... I won't mention any names. But let's just say thankfully it didn't ruin our blossoming friendship.

Cheers, Nienk. I would have to say that we thought that the tubing river ride was the CRAZIEST ride we had ever been on... Little did we know that the next 5 years would actually be a crazier ride. Loves yew. So glad I had you to experience it all.

RTS Christmas Party

So I've been playing Christmas music pretty much 24/7 for the last couple weeks. I'm trying to get into the Christmas spirit!!! Usually Christmas music and Christmas lights will do it for me... But this year I just can't seem to grasp that holiday nostalgia! I don't know why... Maybe because this year we're not getting a Christmas tree... (Because we are flying home for the holidays). Or maybe it's because it's been a steady 75 degrees out. Which DON'T GET ME WRONG... I'm loving it. Where else can you lay by the pool in mid December?! It's pretty amaz. Anywayz, RTS had a Christmas party last week and I got to photograph the families that came. Seeing everyone dressed up in wintery garb and singing Christmas carols, I have to admit, it did inch me a little bit closer to the Christmasy mood.











I think once the plane touches down on the Philadelphia airport, and I walk outside and feel the cold crisp wintery air... (After shedding a few frozen tears because my toes will be instantly frostbitten...) I will start to feel my spirit instantly switch into Christmas Cheer. Can't wait to come home!!!!

Weekend Adventures

2 weekends ago we had a LOVELY visit with my in-laws. And we were so busy chatting and bonding that I didn't even take any photos!! :( Who does that... Really though. Who.

This past weekend though Zack and I had a little escape with some friends. We called it Couples Retreat 2011. And yes, it was complete with initialed visors and everything. More on that later...

Weddings, Creativity, + Maps

Calling all brides! Calling all brides... So one of the most fun/spectacular things about planning your wedding is that you get to be creative with like everything!!

A lot of you may not know... But for our first year of marriage Zack was deployed to Iraq. It sucked. The end. So, we got legally married before he left, and while he was gone I planned the BIG/public/amazing wedding to have when he got back. In between these 2 weddings we took a spectacular 4 week honeymoon to Italy, where we traveled all over the country! It was absolutely amazing.


Anwho, because this trip meant so much to both of us, I knew that I wanted to incorporate it into the wedding, and duh I had like 109309380428e0198402w pictures from it, so I at least wanted to use a couple.

Instead of just regular table numbers, I used different cities/towns/provinces where Zack and I visited in Italy. And then as name cards I drew a little Venetian gondola to tie the whole Italy theme in.

OKAY. So why am I calling all brides and blabbing on about my wedding details. WELL, DUH?! Because this is your wedding, this is your time to shine out and exercise every creative muscle in your body!! And if you don't have one? Then exercise your best friend's!!!! And if she doesn't have one? Well, then there's always pinterest.  Either way, personalize it! 

You want every guest to leave your wedding, shaking their head and say, "Everything about that wedding was special, it was so                and                     "  (Insert bride & groom's name here).

I have a great centerpiece idea for those of you who LOVE to travel. I shot a dinner for RTS Orlando the other day and one of the faculty members brought this centerpiece and I almost died. I LOVE IT.

So, I don't know, I guess all I'm saying is take the extra time, make your wedding about you and your newly-to-be husband, and it will be memorable throughout all the ages! :D

Where??? I don't even know... Somewhere close to Milwaukee I think. But it was actually beautiful. Rolling hills, weathered barns, huge skies... It was gorg. Not only was it gorg, but it is where my one of my bestie's Tim got married.

Is there anything better than wedding weekends where your husband, all your best friends and their wives are all put in one location for the sole reason of celebrating?? Nope....










Thankfully since I was in the wedding as a bridesmaid, my awesome husband worked his camera skillz...



pfffftt.. So what if a few tears dropped. After seeing Darnay break down, I totally lost it.





They're married! Hooray!










And there's always the ever famous Morning After photo... With no sleep and messy hair but hearts filled with overflowing love of the weekend. Cheers to our Best Friend's Wedding!

Cake

No, not the cake that you eat, although you can't really beat a moist delicious piece of cake. Mmm. But no this is Cake.






An adorable little bakery and bistro located in one of Philadelphia's many different neighborhoods, Chestnut Hill. It has a delicious menu and the bakery is to die for. And the cutest part about it, is that it is located in Robertson's Flowers' Greenhouse!


Great food & great company :)

The REAL Jersey Shore

I know what you're thinking... Snookies, lots of fist pumping, Enrique constantly playing in the background, poofs, Cabsahheeeaa, blow outs, gelled hair.... etc. etc.


But no, that is not the Jersey Shore. Not the Jersey Shore that I know and love.
