Greetings family and friends of CLB-46! The Commandant and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps just had lunch with 30 of our Marines and Sailors as part of their Thanksgiving holiday tour. It was quite an honor to have such distinguished visitors talk to us about Iraq, Afghanistan, and how the Reserve component fits into the total force of the Marine Corps. The Commandant and Sergeant Major were very appreciative of the jobs your Marines and Sailors are doing here. We continue to assist with the final Marine Corps draw-down from Iraq and look forward to our eventual return. We had a pleasant Thanksgiving and hope you did too. We are thankful for the love and support from you all back home. Semper fidelis, LtCol Eric Davis
Oh YAY.
So, Maine was a success. We got there on Thursday, it was 60 degrees out, my family (not including me) prayed for snow, and WAH-LA!! The Lord answered THEIR prayers. (I prayed for 80 degree weather and a magical beach to appear, but I guess prayer is more powerful in numbers.. bummer.)
After eating 29,384,982,701,598,372,423 brick oven baked cookies for desert,
Watching a BEAUTIFUL sunset,
And getting through another family photo shoot (by the skin of our teeth) (...and with no farting this year... and I won't mention any names..... )
we had a pretty good weekend, (minus 1 hospital visit, 1 puking & other body fluids flowing incident, and a few rumbles) we survived!!... Which is no small task to the Stark family.. Especially including the fact that 6 large humans traveled to and from in 1 small, VERY small van..
Anyways, we missed Zack a lot though. It was extremely bittersweet for each and every one of us. But Lord willing, next year will just be that much better.
