I'm really really REALLY bad at blogging about recent events. It always takes me about a month before I blog about what just happened... a month ago. SO, I am now committing to quitting my foolish ways and blogging about the recentivities. Yes, I just made that word up. But go ahead I give you full permission to start using it. Recentivities.
The recentivities of the Viscomi household were as follows:
July 3:
We really wanted to go see fireworks at Crane's Roost on Sunday evening. Well, duh, easy enough right?? Well on our walk from the parking lot a bajillion miles away from where the fireworks were, I stopped and stared at the GORG sun setting in the distance, positioned myself on a little patch of grass and took the shot.
Simple?? I thought so.... Until I felt the sharpest little biting pain right on my toe. I look down and smashed a tiny little red ant with my thumb. That little ###**;akjsd;fkja;iwoeur********a;osdjf;adjsf.
I looked at Zack and he looked back at me. We all know what happened last time I got bit by a red ant.... It wasn't pretty. I shook it off and said, "Well, let's just get down there." We arrived to the bottom of the hill where the fireworks were going to go off, and we decided to take some photos of how we are reppin' Independence Day in our Philly shirts...
And suddenly my hands started burning and itching, my feet felt like they were swelling and itching and burning and pulsing all at the same time. The inside of my ears started pounding, itching and burning also. Zack took one look at me and said, "We're going back to the car."
By the time we got back to the car, the hives started appearing. The next 3 hours. Was. Miserable. We got home and Zack shoved antihistamines down my throat... A couple hours later, my face started to look like a little bit like my face again, and a little less like Jabba the Hut. I guess I'm allergic to ant bites. Cool.
July 4:
We woke up and my feet were finally starting to go back to their normal size, so we packed up and took Mona to Winter Park for their little Festival. Fun festivities :)
We had some friends over for a little BBQ (can't have the 4th of July without a bbq...)
then went downtown to Lake Eola for fireworks -- crowded, but great.
Right against the skyline of Orlando... pretty dang sweet.
Hope everyone had a wonderful, patriotic, safe holiday! Now it's back to the grind...
