Library

What is it about the ambiance of a library. The loudest person in the world could walk into a library and just know, "it's time to zip it." I think it's an innate knowledge that we are all instilled with at birth. (whoa.. big word alert). There's a reverence to them, a stillness, a peaceful calm. I love it. The books are ancient, and usually have a romantic medieval feel to them. The pages are browned from age, and every single book has the same specific library smell.

Secret sharing time: every time I walk into a library, I may or may not fight the urge to knock over a glass vase on the floor, or stumble into a bookshelf toppling over all the bookshelves to the floor... Or pop a really really really large bubble of bubblegum causing the silence to shatter... juvenile... I KNOW.

BUT, thankfully I control the urge, and instead sit in whispery silence with the rest of the library world, quietly reading the pages of a timeworn book, and soaking in the silence that you can't find anywhere else in the world.
