Honest: To Be or Not To Be

Honest: Free of deceitfulness and untruthfulness; sincere.

Honesty. What a loaded word. I feel as though honesty is one of those things that you develop a love/hate relationship with. I know I do, but as much as honesty can really hurt, it is so freeing. Honesty can make you AND break you all at the same time.

Honesty. Even when honesty hurts, there is so much peace that comes along with the truth. I really do thank God for that. I appreciate honesty more than probably anything else in this world. It could be as simple as, "Alli. Fix your hair. You look like a dang cockatoo." Or it could be, "Alli. Maybe it's time to stop eating french fries and hit the gym." Or even, "Alli. You have wing sauce on your forehead... again..."

The other day I was out shopping and I REALLY wanted to buy Zack a present while he was at Drill... SO, I bought him a pair of sunglasses that I thought were SUPER hip. The anticipation was high. I attacked him when he got home and screeched,"WANNA SEE YOUR PRESIE??" He took it out of the bag and said,"WOW, thanks babe!" I looked at his face,"Do you like them??" He tried them on, looked in the mirror, smiled and said, "Not really!"

THANK you! The honesty is like music to my ears! I loved the fact that he felt comfortable enough to tell me my present sucked. Honesty's great, people. Live it. Love it. Truth it.

"No legacy is so rich as honesty."
William Shakespeare
