Challenge Accepted

Ever since I've been in Florida, I haven't felt my creative juices flowing as they ought. I mean, come on, Florida is a beautiful place, but let's be honest, there are lakes, palm trees, parks, lakes, palm trees, parks, and more lakes, more palm trees, and more parks..... SOOOOO, I challenged myself.

My camera is not allowed to leave my hand. Find the little details of Florida that make it unique. Find the hidden treasures that at first glance aren't noticeable. Stretch yourself to infinity and beyond. Shoot things that you wouldn't normally shoot, at angles you wouldn't normally think of. So I've been doing it, and I have to say I've been having a blast.

Of course there are those days where I look at what I bring home and say, "Really? What was I thinking??" And there are other days where instead of shooting something creative, I just shoot... Sometimes I'll turn the camera around, have a ridiculous photo shoot with the hubbs. That always ends in giggle fits and extremely unflattering photos. But I love it.

And I love this quote::

"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."
Elliot Erwitt

Preach it, Elliot!

An example of another extremely unflattering but hilarious shoot with the hubbyman. March 2011.
